What is silicone render?
A silicone render system is an exterior wall finish consisting of a rendered base (usually mortar or polymer-modified basecoat) reinforced with a fibreglass mesh and finished with a silicone-based topcoat. The silicone topcoat is a thin, flexible, mineral-like finish that combines water-repellent properties with vapour permeability (it sheds driving rain while allowing trapped moisture to escape). There are many systems available on the market supplied by numerous manufactures and are used as a high-performance decorative and protective external finish.
